Galaxy in Flames: The Crucible is a space ship game with nearly identical mechanics to the mythical Asteroids; set in the fictitious universe of Galaxy in Flames, a science fiction videogame franchise that tries to follow the steps of Homeworld.

In Galaxy in Flames: The Crucible the player controls a small space ship that must survive as long as it can a rain of asteroids that threatens to destroy it. For this, on top of its dodging abilities it must make use of various weapons with which to reduce the asteroids to stardust.
